| This course is for persons with previous trade training and workplace experience in engineering or allied industries who wish to add to their skill base for employment, or diversification, in the engineering, boat building, gas and petrochemical industries expansion in Taranaki. It will equip learners to start work as a welder able to use the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) bare wire and flux core procedures in the downhand, vertical and overhead positions. The course is for persons new to welding and also for those wishing to return to the industry after an absence. It is especially suitable for persons with an existing qualification in engineering, or other field, who wish to be able to use GMAW machines safely and competently. | |
