As an NZQA accredited PTE (Private Training Provider) we specialise in youth learning and development.We currently offer 6 education programmes. All of our programmes are free and students can start at any time. YMCA also offers a rock climbing room, fitness centre, stadium, childcare centre, squash courts, gymnastics, holiday programmes and sport leagues.YMCA is the biggest supplier of after-school care OSCAR in NZ. Adventure Based Life Education (ABLE) for youth to 17 years who want to complete NCEA Level 1 in a fun and adventurous way. Conservation Corps (Y's Path): an interesting and action-packed 20 week programme for those aged up to 24 years who want to gain skillls for employment or further education and training. The course includes training in first aid , health and safety, quad bike operation, tractor driving and safety, chainsaw operation, fencing, car drivers' license, and forklift operation. Straight2Work: a pre-employment retail course begins 1 september 2008. An exciting programme to help people get jobs in the retail industry and hook up to ongoing training with an employer. Specialist Youth Services Corps (SYSCo) a 20 week programme to help youth, who have persistently re-offended, regain positive direction in their lives. Participants are recommended by the youth justice system.
